Carole’s Picks For Fall/Winter 2013 Hair, Make-up and Fashion Trends
There is nothing I love more then changing seasons. A new season almost always brings fresh and exciting hair trends for the styling team at Soho . This fall season we will be seeing rich honey tones and luscious caramels warming up blondes and the complete opposite with creamy ivory hues.
Dark, rich and warm brunettes; with deep-chocolate hair colour being refreshed with dimensional tones of truffle, auburn and caramel. Shine being the most important aspect. Deep redheads spice things up with deeper dimensions and shades, layering red on red highlights to add depth. Ombre lives on, however, the ends are richer, warmer in tone and more blended.
Short hair is having a huge moment; to the Michelle Williams ad for Louis Vuitton, to model Coco Rocha to Beyoncé. If you have thought about short hair, do it now. Medium length bobs, and asymmetrical bobs; dynamic texture is the key. Long layers go well with long hair; embrace the subtle wave, parted in the middle and stick straight hair.
Fringes will be a key part of your new look as this will be a big trend. Hair parted to the right or the left will give you an instant update. 90’s grunge and punk are having a huge impact on fashion, slicked back to achieve a wet look or dried naturally for an effortless look. Low and sky-high ponytails, braids and hair accessories will be an easy update.
Update your make-up with metallic smokey eyes, bright and bold red or burgundy lips to matt skin, cat eyes, voluminous eyelashes and peach blush. Oxblood, metallic moss green tones to nude nails will be a must. We will see moss greens, plaids, animal prints, winter whites, 90’s grunge, statement coats and anything leather.
