The beginnings of Soho
Inspired
by NYC
On a special trip to NYC in 2009, Carole Lemire, Soho Founder and Master Stylist, found herself ready for a new path in life. After a successful career working at one of Edmonton’s biggest salons she was ready for the next step and it was at a lounge in the neighbourhood of Soho in Manhattan that the original concept of the salon was born.
Soho Master Hair Stylists opened it’s doors in Edmonton less than 12 months after the NYC trip and our Edmonton salon has never looked back. On a fun side note, it was on that same trip to NYC that Greg, Carole’s husband and Soho Barber, proposed to Carole!

Soho 2021
& Beyond
Paris is Always a Good Idea
Paris has always held a special place in Carole’s life. Carole’s first language is French, she and her husband, Barber Greg, were married in Paris and she has long idolized world famous Parisians and global fashion designers Coco Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld and Christian Dior.
When the opportunity presented itself for Soho to offer Balmain Paris hair products in combination with trips to Balmain Paris for training, the timing felt right to reimagine Soho and bring some Paris “je ne sais quoi” home to Edmonton. In 2020, Soho was renovated to capture the feel of a luxurious Parisian apartment on Champs-Élysées.
