In 2005 I took my first Sassoon Creative Cutting Course in London, England and it forever altered the course of my life and the path of my career in an incredibly meaningful way. It was during that course that I found my way onto Sassoon’s path. Exactly five years later and six months after I opened the doors at Soho, I found myself back in London at the Sassoon Academy. It was on that trip that I found myself dreaming for the first time of sharing the UK Sassoon experience with my own team of stylists.

Fast forward to last week, it was with great emotion that I watched the Soho Styling Team go on the very same stage that I was on to receive their Sassoon Trilogy Cutting Course Diploma.

The first two days of our training were dedicated to the classic ABC Sassoon methods of lines, graduation and layers that are essential to understanding the dynamics of cutting and controlling shape. The following two days were concentrated on disconnections and how to apply this technique to our haircuts. The last day was spent watching and learning from the International Creative Team as they demonstrated looks from Sassoon’s Academy Collection.

Words cannot express how proud I am of Jaylene, Christine, Kayla P, Ainsley and Kayla Z for their hard work, their dedication to their craft and for their unwavering passion for education and for embracing the Sassoon methodology of cutting and coloring hair. I can say with certainty that I work with the most inspiring and talented team of stylists in Edmonton.
